(Bloomberg) -- Barclays Plc rehired equity capital markets veteran Warren Fixmer from Bank of America Corp., according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Fixmer, who is based in New York, is set to join Barclays as a managing director after a period of gardening leave, one of the people said.

A representative for London-based Barclays declined to comment, as did a spokesman for Charlotte, North Carolina-based Bank of America. Fixmer didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment, and an email to his Bank of America account was undeliverable.

Fixmer, who joined Bank of America in 2009, previously worked at Barclays and predecessor Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., according to Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records. He oversaw special purpose acquisition companies for Bank of America, working on transactions involving Kismet Acquisition One Corp., DHB Capital Corp. and Fortistar Sustainable Solutions Corp., securities filings show.
