With the loonie still hovering around 75 cents US, more Canadians may be choosing to vacation locally this summer.

Aaron Zifkin, the regional director of Americas operations at Airbnb, joined BNN to discuss a few popular listings on the home sharing site. He said he’s seen an uptick in domestic bookings by Canadians, but there’s been more interest from international travellers as well.

Here’s a look at five popular Airbnb listings in Canada:

'Little Ben Cottage' – Prince Edward County, Ontario

Price: $295/night

Located in Wellington, Ont., this cabin has a fully renovated kitchen and dining area. It is located near Sandbanks Provincial Park, which features a beach, and a number of local wineries.

‘Ultimate modern escape’ – Columbia-Shuswap, British Columbia

Price: $449/night

This listing is located near Golden, B.C. on BlaeBerry River. It has two bedrooms, a loft, and mountain and river views.

‘Deluxe Treehouse’ – Scugog, Ontario

This Ontario “treehouse” is about 10 minutes from highway 407, and boasts privacy with no neighbours nearby. It accommodates two.

‘Serenity in Muskoka’ – Huntsville, Ontario

This listing is located in the heart of Ontario cottage country. The cottage sits on Otter Lake and accommodates 12 people.
