MONTREAL -- Air Transat has signed a deal with AerCap (AER.N) for the long-term lease of seven new Airbus (EADSY.PK) aircraft.

Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

The subsidiary of Transat AT Inc. (TRZ.TO) is acquiring two A321neos and five A321neo LRs which will be delivered between 2020 and 2022.

They will replace wide-body A330 aircraft whose leases will expire during the period.

The new aircraft will join 10 new A321neo LRs being leased from AerCap that are expected to be added to Air Transat's fleet starting in the spring of next year.

Air Transat's fleet currently includes 33 permanent aircraft.
