(Bloomberg) -- Crown Resorts Ltd. appointed Ken Barton as chief executive officer, the resorts operator said in a regulatory filing.

Helen Coonan was appointed chair of the Australian operator of gaming and entertainment facilities, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas and retail outlets, the company said in a statement Friday. John Horvath was appointed deputy chair.

Since August, Australian authorities have been assessing whether Crown is worthy of holding a gaming license in Sydney after allegations that criminal gangs laundered money at its casinos and the company used junket operators with links to drug traffickers. Crown’s planned resort in Sydney, which is under construction, is designed for high-stakes gamblers and is central to the company’s future.

The regulatory probe has also troubled potential investment into Crown, as Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd.’s $1.2 billion investment for 20% of the company, announced in May, will also be delayed until Australian authorities finalize their investigation.
