(Bloomberg) -- Barclays Plc has hired Deutsche Bank AG investment banker Jiongting Lim to lead its client coverage in Singapore, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Lim, who joined the German lender in 2020 as a director for mergers and acquisitions in Southeast Asia, has tendered his resignation and is on leave now, the people said. He is due to join Barclays in June, the people said, asking not to be identified as the information isn’t public yet.

Representative for Barclays, Deutsche Bank and Lim declined to comment.

A graduate of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Lim was with advisory firm Evercore Inc. prior to joining Deutsche Bank, according to his LinkedIn profile. He had also spent more than 10 years at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in the city-state, having worked as an analyst before becoming a vice president in 2015, his profile shows.

Barclays in 2021 appointed Ee Ching Tay as head of Southeast Asia banking, according to a press release at that time, confirming a Bloomberg News report. Prior to that, Tay was head of Southeast Asia M&A at JPMorgan. Kunal Ahuja joined Barclays from Standard Chartered Plc in late 2021 as head of Southeast Asia M&A.
