BMO Financial announced Thursday plans to open its new campus in Toronto’s Eaton Centre in 2021.

The 350,000-square-foot workspace, formerly Sears’ flagship location, will consist of a four-storey atrium and will boast innovative work spaces with digital technology, open floor plans, and underground PATH access to public transit and restaurants in Toronto’s downtown core. It will be home to 3,500 BMO workers.

"This urban campus is central to the business transformation that's underway at BMO,” said BMO’s Chief Executive Officer, Darryl White, in a statement.

“This step we are taking is all about our customers because ultimately, it is they who lead our bank. We're positioning the bank to be at the forefront of change and lead the industry. This new workplace will be a centerpiece for how we drive value."

The president and chief executive of Cadillac Fairview, the owner of  Toronto’s Eaton Centre, said they’re “excited about the opportunity” to work with BMO.

"With CF Toronto Eaton Centre as its home, BMO's urban campus will stand out as a vibrant environment to stimulate bold ideas, foster new ways of working, and ultimately attract the best talent," John Sullivan said in a statement.
