TORONTO — Canada’s main stock index was up slightly while New York markets were also in positive territory late Friday morning.
The S&P/TSX composite index was up 28.26 points at 34,437.75.
In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average was up 317.99 points at 50,603.65. The S&P 500 index was up 38.55 points at 7,484.27, while the Nasdaq composite was up 130.19 points at 26,423.29.
The Canadian dollar traded for 72.36 cents US compared with 72.55 cents US on Thursday.
The July crude oil contract was up US$1.45 at US$97.79 per barrel.
The June gold contract was down US$31.60 at US$4,510.90 an ounce.
