A story based on a statement from the union representing Air Canada flight attendants rejecting the airline’s wage offer was withdrawn by Reuters after a union spokesperson said the notice was posted “by mistake.”

Earlier on Friday, Reuters reported that flight attendants voted against ratifying the wage decision. By the afternoon, Reuters published an advisory saying the story was withdrawn.

“We published a statement by mistake on our website, it wasn’t meant to be published,” a spokesperson from the Air Canada component of CUPE told CTV News in an email.

A press release is set to be released shortly, the email continued.
