TORONTO — Logistics and supply chain software company Descartes Systems Group has acquired Tai Software for about US$100 million.
California-based Tai provides AI-powered transportation management services for freight brokers.
It helps brokers bring together quoting, carrier sourcing, load execution, billing and customer engagement.
Descartes says transportation networks are becoming increasingly dynamic and complex.
Descartes chief executive Edward Ryan says Tai complements his company’s strengths in carrier onboarding, compliance, fraud prevention, and real-time visibility.
He says he sees a significant opportunity to help freight brokers navigate change, streamline freight execution, improve operating margins, strengthen customer and carrier relationships, and support digital transformation.
