Thousands of pairs of safety boots from a major global brand are being recalled due to the risk of an electric shock.
The consumer product recall is for the Dunlop RigPro full safety boots that come in dark brown or black, according to Health Canada’s advisory posted online on Thursday.
The recalled boots don’t meet safety certification requirements for being “static-dissipative,” according to Health Canada.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to the store where it was purchased to obtain a refund,” read the notice.
The boots have the article code LJ2HX42.CA, and they’re labelled with the static-dissipative footwear (SD) CSA logo. Boots without the SD safety certification logo are not affected, according to the notice.
“The lack of proper electrical shock resistance may not protect users from electrical hazards, posing a risk of an electric shock injury,” read the notice.
In Canada, 3,764 pairs of the affected products were sold between August 2024 and July 2026, according to Health Canada’s notice.
As of Aug. 26, the company didn’t receive any reports of incidents or injury in Canada.
Dunlop Protective Footwear manufactured the boots in the Netherlands.
