No need to worry if you missed out on Lay’s and Swiss Chalet’s limited edition chalet sauce chips. The potato chip maker said Tuesday that the chip flavour is sticking around longer and will be available in retail stores starting Nov. 1.

Lay’s said its “most Canadian chip ever” garnered social media attention, while Swiss Chalet’s parent company Cara Operations said consumers flocked to the rotisserie chicken restaurants to try the snack.

"We knew Canadians would have a sweet spot for Lay's Chalet Sauce chips, but the response has been beyond our expectations," Shereen Yasseen, senior director of marketing with Frito Lay and PepsiCoFoods Canada, said in a press release.

More shipments of the chalet sauce potato chips will be coming to Swiss Chalet restaurants throughout the rest of the month, Lay’s said.

The snack company teamed up with the restaurant chain to create the chips, which were launched exclusively in Swiss Chalet locations earlier this month. Swiss Chalet’s special sauce has become somewhat of a Canadian staple – especially as a dip for chicken and fries – and was originally created in 1954.

Limited quantities of Lay’s chalet sauce chips will be available at mass retailers and grocery stores across the country in 255g, 66g and 40g bags.
