Tim Hortons is betting there are coffee lovers out there who crave a simpler option than grabbing a hot cup of joe.

The coffee and doughnut chain is launching a Double Double Coffee Bar in the fall of this year. In a release Wednesday, the company describes the bar as having a “smooth and silky texture with an espresso bean finish.” It’s about the size of a chocolate bar, but doesn’t contain any actual chocolate.

"With Canadians increasingly finding themselves on-the-go, we developed this innovative treat so they can easily take their Double Double with them,” said Tim Hortons President Alex Macedo in the release.

The final list of ingredients and amount of caffeine contained in each bar will be provided when the product is rolled out, a company spokesperson told BNN Bloomberg in an email.

The spokesperson also said the company “will be complying with all Canadian advertising regulations and will not be advertising this product to children.”

The bar is Tim Hortons’ latest edible-coffee iteration following the debut of its Double Double Timbit earlier this year.

Not to alienate beverage hardliners, the company will also launch an instant coffee product in February, followed by a new ready-to-drink iced coffee in March.
