Corus Entertainment Inc. is maintaining its quarterly dividend at six cents per share.

The company announced its decision Tuesday morning, despite deferring the dividend declaration in its last earnings release on April 1 due to heightened uncertainty from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re taking an abundance of caution right now as we chart the course going forward,” Corus Chief Executive Officer Doug Murphy told BNN Bloomberg in an April 1 interview. “All of us are completely changing the way we work.”

Corus has maintained its six-cent payout every quarter since the final quarter of 2018. Prior to August 2018 the company’s dividend was paid out on a monthly basis that had been valued at $0.095 for both the company’s A- and B-class shares, a level the company had maintained since January 2015.

The company is scheduled to release its third quarter financial results on June 26.
