It might have been unintended, but it appears the wait for details about Apple’s latest iteration of the iPhone was shorter than anticipated.
Apple's official Twitter account tweeted a few details about the iPhone 7 at 12:52 p.m. ET, about 10 minutes before its San Francisco event was scheduled to begin.
The series of tweets detailed new cameras, water-resistance features, stereo speakers and longer battery life.
The tweets were subsequently removed from the @Apple Twitter account.
Earlier on Wednesday, online retailer Amazon.com Inc briefly unveiled an iPhone 7 page, showing a phone with two cameras and wireless headphones.
The social media misstep would be a setback for the Cupertino, Calif. technology giant, which is widely known for its efforts to keep information about new gadgets and services secret.
