(Bloomberg) -- Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts has hired adviser and longtime Democratic operative Roger Lau to be campaign manager in her bid for the party’s 2020 presidential nomination, according to three people familiar with the move.

Lau worked on Warren’s two Senate races in 2018 and 2012, and previously served as an aide on the 2008 campaign of Hillary Clinton and the 2004 campaign of John Kerry. Dan Geldon, a longtime Warren adviser who has run her U.S. Senate office, will be chief of staff to her 2020 campaign.

The Democratic contenders to challenge President Donald Trump in 2020 are beginning to fill out their campaign teams with the first nominating contest, the Iowa caucuses, a little less than a year away.

Senator Kamala Harris of California has announced that Juan Rodriguez, who oversaw her successful 2016 Senate bid, will be her campaign manager. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York has tapped Jess Fassler, her chief of staff, to helm her 2020 bid. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey has hired Democratic operative Addisu Demissie as his campaign manager.
