(Bloomberg) -- The effects of Hurricane Ian could linger for years after the storm has passed, according to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. 

“This is going to be a tragic event,” DeSantis said during a briefing Wednesday morning as the storm neared shore. “It is something that is going to be there for days, weeks, months and unfortunately in some circumstances even years.”
