Full episode: Market Call Tonight for Friday, January 10, 2020
Greg Newman, director and portfolio manager at Scotia Wealth Management
Focus: North American dividend stocks and protection strategies
Equity markets at times can be generous. Now is possibly one of those times. Central banks are favourable, liquidity is plentiful, fiscal policy is becoming supportive, things look clearer on the trade front, Brexit uncertainty is close to dissipating and the global economy is likely bottoming this quarter. U.S. stocks aren't cheap, but they're not terribly expensive relative to interest rates. Most of the rest of the world is less expensive and while there may be less opportunities than before, they still exist in all regions.
