Niko Cacos, President and CEO of Blue Sky Uranium Corp. (TSXV: BSK | FSE: MAL2 | OTC: BKUCF), discusses advancing the flagship Ivana deposit in Argentina toward development and production with full funding support from Corporación América. With infill drilling complete and environmental work underway for a pre-feasibility study, Blue Sky is fast-tracking Ivana while expanding exploration at nearby targets and new discoveries like Corcovo in Mendoza.Transcript

Hi, I’m Jim Gordon, and you’re watching Market One Minute. Joining us is Niko Cacos. He’s the President and CEO of Blue Sky Uranium. Niko, welcome.
Niko Cacos
Thank you Jim. Pleasure to be here.
Jim Gordon
It’s great to have you, sir. Okay, for our viewers, talk a little bit about Blue Sky Uranium.
Niko Cacos
Well, Blue Sky as the name states, is a uranium company, and our key focus is in Argentina, one of the best places in the world in which to do exploration. And our properties are twofold. One is our advanced flagship project, the Ivana deposit, which is now transitioning into a development stage and hopefully into a construction and ultimately production. And the second group of projects are the exploration properties that we’ve got, either the targets or new discoveries that we’re making right now. So we represent both types of possibilities and opportunities for our investors.
Jim Gordon
Niko, let’s talk a little bit about your 30+ years in the mineral exploration industry, along with a great support management team that you have.
Niko Cacos
Well, like you said, I got over three decades, 33 years actually of experience in the management team, in the mineral exploration industry. All of that with Grosso Group, came right out of the university. It was still my first job. And really, my mentor has been Joe Grosso. He’s the person who founded the Grosso Group, who uncovered the opportunity in Argentina, who saw the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a country like that represented in terms of making new discoveries. And as we plowed through and did exploration with various other junior companies that we’ve managed, I think our track record proves that.
We’ve got four major discoveries that we’ve made. Many of these are in production right now. I think that’s a testament to the entire team and to the vision Joe Grosso had. And you know, for me, having that mentorship and this talented team all around me, it’s a recipe for success.
Jim Gordon
And let’s talk about the area where you’re doing the exploration, and that would be Argentina. What’s it like working in that country?
Niko Cacos
Well, yeah, you know, a few years ago, it wasn’t, but now it is. Argentina has gone through a miraculous turnaround. The election of the Milei government there has allowed the country to tackle inflation from almost 200% down to an almost negligible amount now. And really bringing the economy into line and making it one of the best-performing economies in South America.
Furthermore, there have been a lot of great tax incentives that have been laid out for mining companies that are investing in that country. There are tax incentives, there are regulatory barriers that have been taken down. It’s one of the best countries in which to do business. And I’m not just saying that. We’ve seen over the last year there have been billions of dollars of companies like BHP and Rio Tinto making billion-dollar investments in that country. I think that’s a real testament to the quality of economic reforms that are underway there.
Jim Gordon
Let’s talk about the geography, or maybe a better word would be terrain of where you’re located.
Niko Cacos
Well, our flagship project, the Ivana deposit, is located in the Patagonia region, the province of Rio Negro. What’s neat about that, Patagonia’s just a flat desert, very, very sparsely populated. In fact, even more sparsely populated than parts of Siberia.
Jim Gordon
Wow.
Niko Cacos
Despite that, because there’s a bustling oil and gas industry nearby, there’s great power that runs through the property. There’s a highway that runs through the property. We’re close to a rail line. Even a uranium enrichment facility is not too far away. And beyond that, there’s a small town just to the south of our property to our project. And that’s where we can access labour and so forth. So for me, it’s probably the best place I could find to have a uranium deposit.
Jim Gordon
Yeah, and good to hear about the infrastructure. That’s something that always a help. Let’s talk a bit about Blue Sky Uranium projects and updates.
Niko Cacos
Like I said earlier, with our Ivana deposit, which is our flagship deposit, that one we just announced that we completed all the infield drilling. So that’s required for the pre-feasibility study. And as soon as we complete some of the environmental work, I think we’re gonna be, you know, that project will go from exploration stage into development stage and then working towards feasibility and then production.
And I’m pleased to say that all the money for that, up to $200 million that could be required to put that into production, is all available for us. Corporación América is the partner that’s gonna put up all, do all the funding, and Blue Sky would get a carried interest to that.
Jim Gordon
Now, beyond that, where does our Blue Sky come from?
Niko Cacos
It comes from exploration and from adding additional resources into that deposit. So we’re looking, there are exploration targets to the north of the project that are currently being drilled right now. And any discovery made there will be a significant contribution. And we’re looking at other additional acquisitions that potentially could add additional pounds to that uranium deposit.
And beyond that, like I said earlier, our Corcovo discovery in the province of Mendoza represents a great opportunity to be a significant discovery, but still at the early stages right now.
Jim Gordon
And Niko, finally looking forward, let’s talk about your plans for the next couple of years.
Niko Cacos
Well, our plans right now are twofold. Number one, focus on the development of our Ivana deposit, our flagship project, together with our partner. As they push that through the feasibility study and then assuming a positive feasibility result, that’ll go through to construction and go into production. And we’re trying to do everything we can to fast-track that because the opportunity is today. So hopefully in the next few years here we can get to that point very quickly.
But beyond that, as we are an exploration company first and foremost, we’re looking to see how do we add additional pounds to this? So there’s a lot of exploration potential in and around Ivana. And we are focusing on these, and we’ve deployed all our specialists that understand the triggers for mineralization to uncover that.
And beyond that, we’re looking at other new opportunities, like in the province of Mendoza, our Corcovo discovery, which represent additional value growth for our shareholders. So we have a lot on our plate. We are a junior company. But we are the specialists in Argentina. We’ve got, like you said at the outset, a three-decade track record there, we have a track record of success, and this will be a new success.
Jim Gordon
Niko, always a pleasure. Thanks for joining us.
Niko Cacos
My pleasure.
