• The Lift & Co. Cannabis Business Conference and Expo Toronto 2019 will feature discussions on diverse topics
  • Data, new science and innovation are expanding the cannabis landscape and will be the focus of this year’s conference and trade show
  • The inaugural Canadian Cannabis Week, running from June 3 to 9, will showcase Canada’s global leadership position as a unique and premier destination for investors and thought leaders across the industry

The cannabis industry boasts the potential for public and private companies to realize immense growth opportunities, particularly with the anticipated legalization of edibles and concentrates coming in the latter half of the year that will bring the advent of new technologies, equipment and diversified product lines.

A conservative estimate based on a report by cannabis research firm, Brightfield Group, states that Canada’s cannabis industry is expected to be valued at approximately $5 billion by 2021. The report also notes that between mid-October and the end of 2018 saw cannabis sales in both medicinal and recreational areas reach roughly $210 million.

However, government regulations surrounding cannabis flower and oil formats are restrictive for businesses in this new multi-billion-dollar market and have created barriers for individuals looking to increase their knowledge surrounding cannabis consumption prior to engaging in the legal market.

The Lift & Co. Cannabis Business Conference and Expo Toronto 2019 will provide an excellent opportunity for industry leaders, business owners and consumers to connect, educate and explore the future of Canada’s cannabis industry.

The business conference and trade show are hosted by cannabis technology and media company Lift & Co. (TSXV: LIFT, OTCQB: LFCOF) — a company which began as a blog called Lift in 2014 servicing the medical cannabis community. Now, Lift & Co. is a publicly traded company looking to modernize the cannabis industry through a full platform of technology and media solutions, including digital trade and consumer brand marketing, data insights, and events like these.

Since inception, this business conference and trade show have grown into Canada’s largest cannabis industry and consumer convention, providing an essential platform for brands to connect directly with the industry, investors and consumers in ways they cannot otherwise. This four-day event brings together leading experts from across the Canadian and international industry to tackle top-of-mind topics impacting the industry.

As Lift & Co.’s first Toronto conference and Expo since nationwide cannabis legalization last year, this exclusive event will spark discussions around both the fast-growing medical and adult-use cannabis markets, as well as how Canadian businesses are in a position of leadership on the world stage.

“With several companies investing over six figures in their booth footprints at our Expo in Vancouver held just three months ago, it’s clear that the Expo is an ultra-premium hub for connections between brands and consumers.”

—  Matei Olaru, CEO, Lift & Co.

Moreover, this conference, which drew more than 20,000 visitors in 2018, is expanding this year with four new consumer-focused areas:

Vape Showcase

Located at street level of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, this 10,000-square-foot space will provide a first-ever dedicated exhibition space to the latest in vaporizer tools and technology.

Accessories Zone

In collaboration with humble+fume, this space will give attendees a chance to explore an expansive collection of innovative and design-focused accessories from rolling papers to glass water pipes, preservation packs, kitchen appliances and more.

Grow Zone

In collaboration with Green Planet Wholesale, the Grow Zone will shine a light on one of the hottest topics in adult-use cannabis: the home grow. This space will display the equipment needed and provide necessary information to learn how to grow at home or run a micro-facility.

Game Lounge

In collaboration with Redecan, the Game Lounge on the first floor of the convention centre will be a space to unwind, join in on some fun and enjoy snacks and beverages.

Additionally, the event floor will feature more than 250 business-to-business and consumer-focused exhibitors, many of whom have significantly increased their booth footprint from previous years. Brands use this event as a platform to make an impression on their target consumers and drive enhanced awareness of their product and service differentiation in the market.

For this reason, the Lift & Co. Expo has evolved into a must-attend calendar date that attracts thousands of attendees from across Canada and the globe to the city. This large influx of industry professionals and enthusiasts has resulted in additional events emerging on the dates around the Expo.

In an effort to incite more cohesion around these events and enhance the experience throughout the week, Lift & Co. introduced the first annual Canadian Cannabis Week (CCW) taking place from June 3-9 and culminating with Lift & Co.’s Cannabis Business Conference and Cannabis Expo on the final weekend (June 6-9).

In its first year, CCW will include events hosted by The Economist, NATIONAL Public Relations, Canadian Women in Cannabis, Elevated, and The Cannalysts. Participants will learn about important industry issues including diversity and inclusion, social media and advertising, and the economic landscape. It will also serve as a great primer for those looking to immerse themselves in the upcoming conference.

As the sector matures, CCW will drive Canada’s global leadership position in cannabis and provide a unique offering for investors, companies, thought-leaders and ancillary companies coming into Toronto during this landmark week. At the same time, CCW will also provide added exposure for events and organizations taking part across the country.

Organizations are invited to submit their events for inclusion in Canadian Cannabis Week at ccwevents.ca. Listed events will receive additional exposure as part of the official Canadian Cannabis Week program.
