Mondelez Canada says it's voluntarily recalling some of its Ritz cracker products over potential risk of salmonella.

The company is recalling cheese and pizza flavoured Ritz Bitz Sandwiches.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the recall was triggered in another country, and the products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Mondelez says no illnesses have been reported yet.

Symptoms of salmonella include fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. It can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in the young, elderly or those with weakened immune systems.
