(Bloomberg) -- Secretary of State Michael Pompeo said he and U.S. President Donald Trump believe that the Gulf dispute "has gone on too long and harms mutual interests."

"We hope the parties will see the benefits of cooperation," Pompeo said in Doha on Sunday. "I made clear we are all more powerful when working together and when disputes are limited."

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt cut ties and closed transport routes with the Qatar in 2017, accusing it of funding terrorism, a charge the country denies.
