The value of Canadian building permits rose by 3.8 per cent in September from August, the first increase in three months, Statistics Canada said on Wednesday.
A decrease in the residential sector was more than outweighed by gains in the non-residential sector. A permit for an Alberta hospital drove up the value of institutional building permits.
