(Bloomberg) -- South Africa has identified its first case of monkeypox since a global outbreak began, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases said.
The case was identified in a 30-year-old man in the economic hub of Gauteng, the NICD said in a statement on Thursday. The infected man has no recent travel history and contact tracing has begun, the institute said.
