Spanish Peak Growth Is Over, But No Hard Landing for Now

(Bloomberg) -- Spain’s economy did well in 2018, even as growth elsewhere in the euro area faltered. A strong recovery was almost inevitable given the length and depth of the country’s recession and it has been spared a string of shocks endured by its neighbors. Still, Spanish momentum has also slowed from its peak and Bloomberg Economics expects it to gradually slow further in coming quarters as slack is finally used up.
