(Bloomberg) -- Sen. Ted Cruz has an idea for what prosecutors can do with billions of dollars that could be seized from the infamous Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman after he was convicted Tuesday in New York -- build the wall.

Cruz’s comments came U.S. President Donald Trump said he was “considering everything” on the possibility of declaring a state of emergency along the U.S.-Mexico border to help find funding for a border wall by circumventing Congress. He said earlier he wasn’t thrilled about a tentative compromise lawmakers have in the works, even though he may still be open to accepting it.
