Anthony Vaccaro, Group Publisher of The Northern Miner Group, speaks with Michael Hainsworth about the state of the Canadian mining industry, including the impact of rising electric vehicle production of base and battery metals.

He highlights imminent demand increases in copper, lithium, and nickel on the back of changing environmental attitudes and how this boosts the mining industry.

Apart from battery metals, Vacarro also highlights his take on gold and how he believes that it holds its value over time, which is something that cryptocurrencies can’t say.

Moreover, to get a better sense of how the mining industry is performing, the Northern Miner launched the Canadian Mining Symposium in 2017 in London. In its opening year, the event reached capacity and garnered support from many professionals in the Canadian mining industry.
