Bombardier is reorganizing its business by combining its corporate and regional jet divisions into a single aviation unit. The Montreal-based firm is also looking to sell its big manufacturing operation in Belfast and smaller business in Morocco. This comes ahead of the company’s annual general meeting where it is expected to face pressure about whether its turnaround plan is still on track and face opposition from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board regarding its dual-class share structure, which gives voting control to its founding family.

SUNCOR ENERGY TOPS Q1 PROFIT EXPECTATIONS

Alberta’s recent production curtailments helped boost the bottom line at Suncor Energy. The company topped first-quarter profit expectations thanks to increased Canadian heavy crude pricing. CHINA TAKES AIM AT TWO CANADIAN PORK EXPORTERS

China is now taking aim at Canada’s pork industry. The Canadian Pork Council of Canada has confirmed China has suspended the export permits of two-Quebec based hog exporters. It is unclear if the suspension is simply due to an administration error or an escalation of the trade spat between the two countries.
