Fairfax Financial CEO Prem Watsa has offered some words of wisdom for U.S. President Donald Trump: “stop using that Twitter account” and “stay quiet.”

“Those Twitter messages – no one checks them,” Watsa said referring to White House staffers.  “He just gets up in the morning and sends them,” he said Thursday while speaking at the Canadian Club in Toronto.

On a more serious note, Watsa, who said he wouldn’t have voted for Trump, pointed to some of the president’s proposed economic policies – including plans to cut the corporate tax rate, roll back regulations and spend more on infrastructure – which he said would lead to a long period of growth if implemented.

“I worry about Mr. Trump,” Watsa said, but noted the strength in the U.S. economy and people around him, specifically mentioning Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

“When the United States does well, everyone else does well,” Watsa said. “We certainly do well in Canada.”
