Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants Canadians to imagine the terror and horror unfolding in his country and do more to help save Ukraine in an emotional address to Parliament this morning.

He says the sanctions from Canada and its allies are welcome but not enough to end the war and Ukraine needs help to close its skies to Russian aircraft and missiles.

More than 900 Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian politicians, military officers and influential business leaders are on Canada's sanctions list, including 15 more added just today.

Russia is now responding to those sanctions by banning more than 300 Canadians from entry into Russia, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly, Chief of Defence Staff Wayne Eyre and almost every Canadian MP.

The Russian invasion in Ukraine is now in its 20th day, and Zelenskyy says every day is a nightmare as missiles fall on cities, destroying schools, hospitals, and homes all over the country.

He is asking Canadians to imagine it was their cities under siege, their children under threat and their country's future in jeopardy.
