Wealthsimple refuses to restrict trading in Reddit-fuelled stocks
The Reddit-fueled rally in the likes of GameStop, BlackBerry and AMC prompted American no-fee trading platform Robinhood to restrict the types of transactions retail investors could make in the names, prompting outrage. Here in Canada, Wealthsimple did no such thing, allowing investors to trade freely in those securities, helping drive the trading platform to the top of the app store.
