MARKET OUTLOOK
The equity market is becoming narrower in leadership, with the growth style dominating with the backing of technology stocks. Technology as a sector now represents 30 per cent of the S&P 500 Index. While rewarding in the short-term, the risks inherent in concentration can result in a bad ending. The choice is to begin to introduce names that are compelling on a fundamental level but which are not yet benefitting from positive price action. It can be a time where it is difficult to keep up with benchmarks but can be very rewarding over the long-term.

Top Picks

ANTHEM (ANTM.N) Last purchased May 2018 at $231 USD
Anthem is a managed care operator with over 40 million members. With the tailwind of an aging population and a desperate need to provide health insurance solutions, ANTM is expected to grow at a rapid clip in the coming years. Goodreid expects earnings of $15 USD per share in 2018 and an on-going growth rate in the 15 per cent range.

BOOKING HOLDINGS (BKNG.O) Last purchased May 2018 at $2065 USD
Booking Holdings (formerly Priceline) has been one of the most successful stocks of the last couple of decades and that success is far from over. As the world’s premier online travel company they are growing gross bookings by 20 per cent annually and expanding search reach in hotels, cars, flights, restaurant reservations and other categories. Look for $100 USD per share in earnings in 2019.

HONEYWELL (HON.N) Last purchased May 2018 at $147 USD
Honeywell is a premier U.S. industrial, well positioned in aerospace, building products and performance materials. The U.S. tax bill added over $20 billion USD to an already strong financial position. With a history of strong profitability ratios expect the increased leverage to result in impressive growth.
