Loblaw Companies Ltd. (L.TO) said all of its stores are up and running again, following a computer network problem on Thursday morning that forced the retailer to shutter a number of locations.

“A total network issue” had prevented cash registers from working at the chain’s company-owned stores, a Toronto store manager told CTV News.

A Loblaw spokesperson told BNN that the technical issue has been fixed, “but checkout times may be slower than normal.”

Some Loblaw stores that were unable to process customers’ purchases were closed early Thursday morning.

By approximately 9:45 am  ET, some stores that had been shuttered were able to start processing transactions again. A Loblaws store manager in downtown Toronto told BNN that at one point all of the grocer’s stores in Toronto were affected.

Brands under the Loblaw banner include Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart, No-Frills, Real Canadian Superstore and Zehrs.
