(Bloomberg) -- Iran will reach limits set in the nuclear deal on its stored enriched uranium in weeks, Tehran-based Vatan Emrooz newspaper reported, citing a government official.

“If we were proceeding at the previous speed it would have taken several months” to reach the 300-kilogram cap on the storage of enriched uranium, Behrouz Kamalvandi, the spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said in an interview. “With the changes introduced, we will reach that ceiling in coming weeks.’’

Officials announced this month that Iran will scale back some of its commitments agreed as part of the nuclear accord.
