(Bloomberg) -- Volkswagen AG won dismissal of a climate case that was filed on behalf of German citizens and was supported by environmental group Greenpeace.

The Braunschweig Regional Court dismissed the action on Tuesday,  Greenpeace and Volkswagen said in separate statements. The case sought to order the carmaker to stop selling vehicles that emit CO2 by 2030. A similar case against VW is still pending in a court in Detmold.

Volkswagen said it welcomes the ruling, arguing climate litigators are wrong to pick and target individual companies.

Greenpeace said it plans further legal steps and Tuesday’s ruling isn’t the end of the case.
