Lithium producers have begun to overcrowd the market as companies look to be a part of the electric vehicle (EV) transition — but one expert says the opportunity for growth remains.

Speaking with BNN Bloomberg’s Amber Kanwar on Monday, Cole McGill, vice president of research in metals and mining at Stifel Financial, said the demand for EV’s remains extremely strong — particularly in China, the U.S. and Europe. While a lot of supply has entered the market, he doesn’t see this is a problem for business.

“Margins on average for most of the incumbent producers are still very robust,” he explained.

He recommended Lithium Americas Corp. (LAC), Lithium Ionic Corp. (LTH) and Frontier Lithium Inc. (FL) as hit top three picks within the sector.

McGill, his family, his firm and his investment banking clients do not own any of shares in the stocks mentioned above.
