(Bloomberg) -- Amazon.com Inc. is expanding its Amazon Clinic virtual service to all 50 states and Washington DC as part of its efforts to grow in the health care industry.

The Seattle-based company launched the service in November to connect patients seeking treatment for common conditions like acne, sinus infections and pink eye with health care professionals on a virtual messaging platform. In a blog update on Tuesday, Amazon said the service will also support video consultations.

Message-based consultations will also be available in 34 states. “Depending on the state in which they are located, customers can connect via messaging or video call—all without an appointment or insurance,” the e-retailer said Tuesday. Prescriptions can be filled at any pharmacy, including Amazon’s, which handles fulfillment and delivery.

Amazon is actively working on pushing deeper in the health care space after sealing its acquisition of 1Life Healthcare Inc., which operates the One Medical chain of primary care clinics, for $3.49 billion earlier this year. The company also operates a mail-order pharmacy.

In December, it wound down Amazon Care, a telehealth and home-visit service that had been offered to Amazon employees and sold to corporate benefits departments.
